About Richard Wurtz, MD

Dr. Wurtz was born in Topeka Kansas and moved with his family to Phoenix Arizona. He graduated summa cum laude from Benedictine College and in 1998 he earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He received the Preventative Medicine Award from and completed his family practice residency at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. In 2000 Dr. Wurtz completed work as a Natural Family Planning Consultant at the Pope Paul VI Institute. He and his wife Sarah are devoted parents of seven children. When not engaged in his medical practice church or his children?s educational activities Dr. Wurtz enjoys playing and listening to classical music gardening and other outdoor activities. He enjoys serving patients of all ages but especially likes prenatal care delivering babies and establishing long-term caring relationships with young families. He is board certified in family medicine.
